Altea

Altea is one of the most charming and beautiful towns in Spain — full of magic. Wander through the cobbled streets of the old town, admire the white houses covered in vibrant flowers, and visit a local artisan shop where you can find unique handmade goods. At night, the magical lights of the harbor fascinate every visitor.

Canelobre Caves

Located 26 km from Alicante, this cave system is approximately 145 million years old. Inside, there’s a chamber of over 80,000 m², accessible through a 45-meter-long tunnel. You’ll find one of the highest vaults in all of Spain — rising 70 meters — surrounded by magnificent stalactites and stalagmites. The walk is easy and takes about 60 minutes. Closed-toe shoes are recommended. During the summer season, it's best to book online in advance due to limited visitor numbers.

Elche

A city of surprises where you can easily spend a full day exploring. Walk along the medieval walls of the old town, which reflect a variety of historical eras since the buildings were constructed and transformed over many centuries with different architectural styles. At the heart of the historic center stands the Basilica of Santa María, built on the site of an old mosque. A Gothic church stood here until the 14th century, later replaced by a Gothic-Renaissance structure in the 16th century. That, too, no longer exists — the current basilica dates from the 17th century. If you're up for it, climb the 170 steps to the top of the basilica's tower for a truly unique view. Each October, the ancient walls host the Elche Medieval Festival, a spectacular event for all ages.

Fonts de l'Algar

A truly protected natural paradise where you can even take a refreshing swim. Located 14 km above Altea, this protected natural area features stunning waterfalls and pools. Bring a swimsuit and enjoy a dip in the crystal-clear waters. Changing rooms are available. If you just want to walk, wear non-slip, closed-toe shoes for a pleasant afternoon stroll. Entry fees range from €2 to €4. Expect crowds during the summer.

Guadalest – Living History on the Costa Blanca

El Castell de Guadalest is one of the most visited villages in the region — a must-see for tourists. Wander through its charming narrow streets, explore artisan shops and small museums, and enjoy breathtaking views that make every moment worthwhile.

The Pink Lake Of Torrevieja

This natural wonder is on nearly everyone’s must-see list.

You don’t need to travel across the world to find spectacular sights. In the heart of Vega Baja del Segura in Alicante lies a massive pink lagoon covering 1,400 hectares.

This unique natural phenomenon in Spain is caused by a bacteria that releases a pink pigment in high-salinity water. The salt concentration is 350 grams per liter — similar to the Dead Sea. If swimming were allowed, it would feel just like that!

The lake’s mud also has healing properties and is used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.

📍Best time to visit?
Late summer — especially during Spain’s “Veranillo de San Martín” (Indian summer).
From mid-August to late September, the color is at its most vibrant.
And there’s more: this season is when about 2,000 flamingos come to breed in the lagoon. Their pink feathers come from shrimp that feed on the lake’s algae.

A perfect afternoon outing for the whole family.

Villajoyosa- La Villa Joiosa

A small seaside town between Alicante and Benidorm, easily accessible by tram (L1). Famous for its colorful houses, which glow beautifully in the morning light. The town has a truly unique architectural style — most houses lean slightly, streets twist unexpectedly, and you might find yourself right back where you started. Doors and windows follow slanted lines, walls are rarely flat, giving the town a whimsical, playful character. Don’t miss the Valor Chocolate Museum, where you can taste freshly made truffles and chocolates in the shop right next to the factory.
